The thoughts of a survivor.....

When I started the freedom programme I had no intentions to complete
it!  I believed no one could change my past so why bother.

Although no one can change you’re past, being with other people who have been through the same and being supported through the roller coaster of emotions, has helped me come to terms with and move on from, the emotional train wreck I had become.
Having support at the other end of a phone and a weekly chat and cuppa,
makes you realise you are not alone in this big world. Making sense of
the behaviours and tactics of a perpetrator, has made it easier to overcome the fear that it will all happen again one day, as I now believe I could spot it earlier and in time to walk away.
On the last session I was actually sad it was over.

My feelings before the freedom programme …. why me? No one else has had this happen to them!
My feelings after the programme ….  I am a survivor!  I can rise above the fear and challenges and become whole again.
